THANE: A minor boy from Vartak Nagar area here has been abducted by a young autorickhsaw driver, allegedly to avenge opposition to his love-affair from his girlfriend's family, police said.
The kidnapped boy is a younger brother of the girl, they added.
API N N Patil of the Vartak Nagar police station said that the accused Satish Singh and a girl, living in his vicinity, were in love. However family members of the girl opposed this. At first, Satish tried to convince family members of the girl. However, due to the rising opposition from home, the girl also stopped meeting him.
Irked over this, Satish decided to take revenge, police said, adding that on Monday he picked up the boy and vanished.
A complaint of kidnapping has been lodged with the Vartak Nagar police and investigations are on.
