CHENNAI: A man was sentenced to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl.
Maran, a resident of Ayanavaram , raped his friend's 10-year-old daughter two years ago. Magalir Neethimandram sessions judge Justice Kaliyamoorthy also asked him to pay a fine of Rs 6,000, of which Rs 5,000 would go to the victim.
The victim's parents had left her at Maran's house and gone shopping. On their return, they learnt about the incdent. They admitted her to a hospital and registered a case at the ICF police station in Ayanavaram.
