LUCKNOW: A 17-year-old girl was shot at in Kanshiram Nagar district, when she was returning home from school on Friday afternoon. The attacker happened to be her jilted lover, who on being chased by the villagers shot himself. He died on the spot while the girl was struggling for life at a hospital in Aligarh.
Malti (name changed) was a student of Class XI at Bhagwan Devi Inter College. She was on her way back to her house in Ferozpur village after her class got over. Malti was barely 100m away from her village, when she was intercepted by Manoj Yadav. He happened to be a cousin of Malti's sister-in-law and claimed to be madly in love with her.
Incidentally, Yadav had already got married only a year ago. Malti had turned down his advances more than once in the past.
