Nagercoil: The chairman of a college in Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu has been arrested for allegedly raping an 18-year-old student.
Ashok Kumar, 59, the chairman of a private paramedical college, was arrested on Saturday for allegedly raping the victim, a nursing student, on August 11, police said.
According to a complaint lodged by the victim, Kumar took her to the boys' hostel in the afternoon and raped her. She alleged that she was raped again the same day at around 9.30 pm near the girls' hostel.
Police said preliminary investigation suggested the victim may have been molested over a period of time and that they were probing the angle.
