GUNTUR: An agricultural labourer killed his wife and daughter before committing suicide by hanging himself at his home in Abbur village of Sattenapalle mandal on Saturday morning.
Police said that Ankamma Rao, an agriculture labourer was said to have been quarrelling with his wife Govindamma for the past few months, as pressure from his debtors mounted for repayment of his loans.
Evidence shows that Ankammarao is suspected to have beaten his wife to death after she went to sleep.After making the decision to commit suicide himself, Ankamma Rao is believed to have poisoned his 18-month-old daughter Bhagya, resulting in her death. He then hanged himself.
Neighbours who became suspicious, broke down the doors to the house and found the three victims, and called the police. Local DSP J Bhaskara Rao said that all three bodies have been sent for autopsy, and that police are investigating.
