GURGAON: A serving employee of the Air Force was arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping the supervisor of a guest house in DLF-III. The accused's brother owns the guest house.
Police said that the accused, 25-year-old Air Force employee Manish Kumar, was posted as a corporal at Rajokari Air Force station. According to the police, the victim had joined work on August 1. The alleged rape took place in the guest house on Wednesday midnight.According to the police, 24-year-old Juilee (name changed), a resident of Delhi, was looking for a job and on July 31, she had appeared for an interview for the post of a supervisor in the guest house.
The guest house has been taken on a lease by one Ravi Ranjan, a native of Bihar. "She qualified in the interview and was asked to report for duty on August 1. The guest house owner gave her a room on the top floor since she had to attend to the paying guests," said a senior police officer.As per the complaint lodged by the victim, on Wednesday night, she was sleeping in her room, when at midnight the accused Manish Kumar knocked on her door. When she went to the door, the accused entered the room forcibly."The victim has alleged that Manish had raped her and fled from the spot. He had even allegedly threatened to kill her if she revealed the incident to anyone," said a police officer.
On Thursday morning, the victim called her mother and after she reached Gurgaon, an FIR was lodged against Manish. Police arrested the accused in the afternoon. "We are interrogating him and will produce him before a city court on Friday," said sub-inspector Kuldeep Singh.
